The oddest thing: last night while walking Bozzio I turned the corner onto Adelphi and saw down the block a massive pile o’ crap outside my free furniture connection: a self storage warehouse.
Once in awhile and always at night I have been lucky enough to find a decent table or chair on this exact spot. Last night about 300 people were lucky enough to find box after box of personal belongings up for grabs on the street. The storage facility had made a purge around 5pm. By the time I got there it was desperately slim pickings. All the boxes were empty and the contents spread out on the sidewalk, mostly clothing and bad romance novels and papers. I’m not too proud to dumpster dive but this was too weird even for me. It felt like someone’s attic had exploded onto the sidewalk. It didn’t seem right. Someone (a lot of someones) had cared enough to box up this stuff, drive it to the warehouse and pay to have it stored.
There were still about 10 people rummaging thru the jumble. One guy had his car parked right next to the pile with the trunk popped. He was the one who filled me in,told me some had even found cash.
You cannot pick trash with a dog. He was pulling everywhere, trying to bite the stuffed animals or falling at the feet of all the strangers and rolling onto his back. But even if I had been sans Bozzio I don’t think I would have dived in.

.htaccess=awesome
I sweated like a moe over how to fix my mistake of installing my new blog (with all of my old blog’s content) into a new directory instead of in the old blog directory.Since I was only trying it out I didn’t want to go to the trouble of doing things right.I was still dubious about just how easy it would be to set up my site to match my WordPress blog design. It was easy-so easy that my already scrappy organisational skills abandoned me and I wnt ahead and installed without thinking.Be careful not to be like me! So here is how I fixed it.
.htaccess Redirect is easy to do.
Simply paste *this into **your .htaccess file in the root of your directory:
Redirect /olddirectory http://yoursite.com/newdirectory/
*Put the correct domain name and directory names of course.
**if you don’t have one it’s easy to make one with any text editor like Notepad.
Just name and save a new file .htaccess. Open file and paste in the redirect. Then load with ftp to the root. In my case that is the same level as the public_html directory, which is called htdocs.
Thanks to javascriptkit.com
Go to  their tutorial
There’s lots more on .htaccess to be found there.
Focus! Focus!
I’m not supposed to be working on my own pages. I’m supposed to be working on my friend’s new art site. I took a bunch of photos of her paintings and cropped them in my photo editor and loaded them to her server but when it comes to actually doing anything with them I let my mind wander.
I admit that I have been at the computer too long.I need a break a shower and a walk outside. If you see me back here tonight yell at me and stage an intervention.I have an excuse-my roommate is here with the baseball-snapping his gum and driving me crazy!
I just made more work for myself
I imported my blogger posts and now all the text formatting is gone. So all the posts look like one big block of text. I know how all you readers love that. I couldn’t find out how to un import so now I am stuck with these wall of text posts. I have to edit them all. Yay.
