I knew it.

A. decided that he was going to defrost our mini fridge today. We emptied it out and let nature take it’s course.Open fridge, warm apartment bye bye ice compacted mini freezer with broken door.
To speed things up we put pans of hot water on the shelf under the freezer compartment and I went to take the dog for a long walk. When I returned A. was at the freezer with one big old knife, scraping the ice away in a manner clearly warned against by practically everybody since the dawn of the non self defrosting fridge.
But he kept saying “I will I will” to all of my “be careful” ‘s and even though I was really apprehensive, he was getting much ice out… in fact it was nearly all gone…
D. came home and we chitchatted at the counter in the kitchen while A. scraped and scraped. Then, A. let out a wail and dove to the floor face down as a hissing noise and a cloud of freon began to pour out of the freezer. I yelled “is it poisonous?” as A. lay on the kitchen floor in shame.
Our dog was in danger I thought but no one answered me. I waited a few minutes and didn’t notice any of us turning blue or dying.
so I guess freon doesn’t kill, or at least not right away.
I immediately ran to Craigslist to look for mini fridges for sale. I found one
in Mid town for 75 bucks.
I also found a lot of folks selling fridges, full size ones, for really cheap. We had an odd set up: A big fridge and a mini one next to it.The microwave went on top of the mini and our collection of glad wrap and tinfoil, papertowl holder and other miscellaneous crap went on top of that.
We have no cabinets so this is a good compromise I guess.
But if we can get another fullsize fridge we would have a lot more room. There are 4 people living here so there’s hardly any room ever in either of the fridges.
A. is silly.
