@paul bradish: I do not like to rely on them at all. But it's that or deal with "the check is in the mail" cliche.
I transferred the $ to my bank account as fast as I could.

What I find funny is that Paypal is basically an unregulated bank. They will charge what they want, when they want - and their service is terrible.

I've been on both sides of the coin with paypal first as a consumer and then as a business. I'll never leave more than $100 in the Paypal account and I'll never trust them with my money ;).

I use paypal sometimes and for small jobs I actually prefer new clients to use it as knowing that they have paid me is better than sending reminder after reminder for a few months.

For larger projects, sometimes we will accept a deposit by paypal so we dont have to wait for the check.

I ended up having to call again- I wonder if they helped themselves to another buck.
But anyway, Hi Jamie!

Paypal definitely sucks if you are going to get paid quite a lot of money because they take out so much. As for them taking $1.00 out for no reason, that I can't say but I wouldn't put it past them for doing so because you called into Customer Service. I've heard worse things but yet, I haven't found a comparable service!
